Meet our Instructors

Both our instructors are IKO certified and local to the West Coast. They boast over 1000 hours of teaching between them and countless hours on the water.

Jamie

IKO Instructor, BEng Mechanical

A qualified mechanical engineer who quit his desk job to pursue his passion, Jamie throws himself into the sky as hard as he hits the water on the way down. After countless splash-downs, he's learnt that landing without your board is almost as fun as landing with it. He's a passionate kiter and a patient instructor who's always just as stoked as his students.

David ("Dassie")

IKO Instructor, BComm Finance

Named at birth after the majestic South African rock rabbit, Dassie managed a selection of high-profile eateries, coffee bars and organic grocers before switching his taste for fashionable food with a tendency to hurtle skywards. His passion for kiting, conversation and sharing the stoke translates into engaging and entertaining lessons.

David ("Dassie")

IKO Instructor, BComm Finance

Named at birth after the majestic South African rock rabbit, Dassie managed a selection of high-profile eateries, coffee bars and organic grocers before switching his taste for fashionable food with a tendency to hurtle skywards. When it comes to kiting, his brain-parts responsible for 'this could end badly' go offline, allowing him to send it hard enough to make onlookers anxious.

He's a sneaky foodie and a passionate debater, and his relentless pursuit of the elusive double kite loop is discussed only in whispers.
